The Oscar’s are always a delight to watch mainly because of the beautiful exhibition of clothing that we at home get to feast our eyes on. I have been looking forward to this event and it certainly did not disappoint. There were so many beautiful looks last night so I will do my best not drone on about every single one!

My favourite look of the entire evening was Zoe Saldana’s purple Givency Couture gown. WOW WOW WOW WOW. By far the standout of the evening for me. The sparkly bodice and the ruffled detailing at the bottom of the dress would have intimidated most, but Zoe pulls this off easily. Her hair and make up were perfect!

Nicole Richie looked absolutely breath taking in a Reem Acra gown. This dress was unlike anything on the Red Carpet last night, it was so original and absolutely stunning. I love the long bat wing sleeves and the sexy low back.

Anna Kendrick was pretty in pink in her Elie Saab gown. This gown is so perfect for the event and it suits her so much. The colour and the floaty style of the gown makes Anna look so soft and angelic. An amazing choice and after all, a Red Carpet is incomplete without Elie Saab.

I can’t believe I am saying this but finally Miley Cyrus has managed to get on a best dressed list. YES she was glowing on the Red Carpet in a beautifully sparkling Jenny Packham gown. I love everything about this look, the dress is so perfect on her, her make up is to die for and her hair is stunning. She finally did it!

Rachel McAdams was another celebrity who supported Elie Saab on this occasion. The starlet opted for a very colourful yet earthy look. I love the sweetheart neck line and then the full skirt. She reminds me of some otherworldly creature in this look because the colours are just so lovely. She is a vision!

It wouldn’t be a Red Carpet if Demi Moore wasn’t there to make everyone green with envy. The flawless actress looked incredible in a blush toned Atelier Versace gown. I love everything about this look.

Sandra Bullock sparkled in Marchesa. She completely aced the old hollywood glamour look and the gown really compliments her figure. I am so glad that she looked so good during her shining moment. Congratulations Sandy!

For my very last mention I am really surprised and I’m sure you will be to. I can’t believe I am actually saying this but Kristen Stewart made my jaw hit the floor when I saw her in her custom made Monique Lullhier gown. Although some might think this is typical K Stew, dark and moody, I beg to differ. The gathered details on the bodice and waistline are to die for, the skirt and shape of the dress give Kristen a BODY and for once, the dress actually fits her. She is carrying herself well and I think this is the best Kristen has ever looked. It seems like she is finally coming to terms with her fame and fortune. I love this gown so much, I love her hair and make up. I love how she isn’t slouching, maybe next year we might get a smile out of her!

Strapless gowns seemed to be very popular among the ladies this year. I wonder what next year will bring.

On the 5th of March, The 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards were held in the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The event was flocked with celebrities and there were so many stunning looks on the Red Carpet.

My favourite look of the night goes to Olivia Wilde. She wore a gorgeous neutral tone dress from Ralph Lauren Fall 2009. I LOVE this look on her, its so relaxed and earthy and is really different to the looks she usually goes for. Olivia is so beautiful and this dress really suits her.

Maggie Gyllenhaal totally blew me away with her look. Her Lanvin dress sits on her perfectly and she just looks so sexy. Usually I would be furious about the tights but on this occasion it works somehow. Obviously Maggie didn’t want to look too exposed.

Vera Farmiga looked stunning in a modified Marchesa dress. The stunning actress looked so feminine and sultry in the dress. I love the colour of the dress against her skin and I really like how she styled her hair and make up in a way that didn’t take any attention away from her dress. Stunning.

Another look that I really loved belongs to Zoe Kravitz. This event is quite relaxed and her boho style went perfectly with the vibe. Her Chloe dress is so simple and stunning. I love how soft and angelic she looks.

She is by far one of Hollywood’s strongest rising stars, shes funny, down to earth, talented, fashionable, enviously gorgeous and this weeks Style Icon. Its Blake Lively of course.

In 2007 she made what I believe was her strongest impression on people through her role on the hit show Gossip Girl. The show is not only glamorous and funny but it’s HIGHLY addictive. With Blake playing the role of the ever so lovely Serena Van Der Woodsen she caught people’s attention with her gorgeous face, beautiful cascading blonde hair and of course that bangin body!

In 2008 fashion critics labeled her as the “girl to watch” however 2008 wasn’t the best year for Blake in terms of fashion. Although Blake had been in showbiz for quite some time, in 2008 she was still adjusting to the attention she was getting and all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Some of her looks were amazing and some needed work.

But in 2009 Blake turned the tables around. With every single appearance she made she was popping up in best dressed polls and made people green with envy. Whether it’s sexy, glamourous, casual, shabby chic, classic Blake impressed time and time again. The star says that her role on Gossip Girl and the style team have really helped her find her own sense of style and that she can’t believe she is  style icon.

 I absolutely love Blake’s style. She always looks gorgeous and very very fashionable indeed. Unlike other stars Blake keeps things interesting, she never shies away from colour or takes the safe route. Along with a beautiful wardrobe Blake is always picture perfect with flawless make up and incredible hair, however it’s styled. She dresses appropriately for her age and gives off a fun, fresh and youthful vibe all the time that never seems over done. Some people have criticised Blake for flaunting her goods too often, but I think if you’ve got it, flaunt it!

Blake Lively is one of the most promising stars of her generation. As well as being a style icon across the globe, she is also hugely succesfull and an incredible role model. With a gorgeous attitude, a lovely personality and a promising career I can’t wait to see what Blake Lively has in store for us in 2010.

Last night, a very fiery Kim Kardashian launched her new fragrance at Sephora in Miami Beach. Followers of the reality TV icon have been itching to get a whiff of the starlets much talked about fragrance.

Kim chose a very striking red dress for the launch of her latest project and teamed her cute little dress with nude sky high patent pumps. She had her hair in her usual loose waves with her fringe swept to the side to reveal her very sultry features. I’m not sure how I feel about the detail at the bottom of Kims dress but she does look very cute and her make up is flawless as always.

Kim chose a very classic pink and black bottle for her self titled fragrance which was her preffered choice among three designs. Ladies out there wanting to get their hands on Kims fragrance can purchase it exclusively from Sephora retail stores from as little as $16.

As some of you reality TV addicts may know Celebrity Big Brother has just started in the UK  and Channel 4 have cleverly released an interesting ‘Celeb’ version of TweetDeck on their site for Download. It comes with a new skin and with a column feeds that updates their every move – Joy! For those that don’t know:

“TweetDeck is your personal browser for staying in touch with what’s happening now, connecting you with your contacts across Twitter, Facebook and more. TweetDeck shows you everything you want to see at once, so you can stay organised and up to date.” – TweetDeck.

What you can expect to see:

On the site they state: “Channel 4 has teamed up with TweetDeck to offer a custom Big Brother application, so you can stay up to date with the latest news and gossip on everything that’s happening inside”. This seems like a clever collaboration between the two companies as TweetDeck will gain traffiic / users while Channel 4 are able to further communicate with their audiences a lot more, increasing their viewers/advertising revenue. I think we’re going to see a lot more TV channels integrating with social web applications in 2010 so keep your eye out.

Glee’s bad boy & babe magnet Mark Salling took over YouTube & recorded a song that expresses his gratitude and thanks to being part of the Glee family, giving shutouts to his fellow cast members, crooning ” There’s nowhere I’d rather be than chillin on Glee, I want to thank you for making me part of this family”.

“Matt ‘s well cast, Lea blows me away/I could read a scene with Dianna every day,” he croons. “Kevin is hilarious, Amber ‘s got soul/Chris is a great actor, Naya ‘s beautiful”

So cute to see someone young and talented appreciating a good career opportunity & not taking it for granted. Take a hint, kids!

Gossip Girl beaus Taylor Momsen & Chace Crawford were spotted filming a night scene in the cold streets of Manhattan, New York last night. Taylor is a dead reminder of young Christina Aguilera. Hotness!

The cast of “Glee” got everyone in the Christmas spirit yesterday as they attended the “Carol-oke” contest at Bryant Park in New York city. Nikki Blonsky, Mark Stalling, Amber Riley & Cory Monteith  all showed up & sang helping raise money for the Toys for Tots program this holiday season. Always good to give kiddies!

Gossip Girl cast were warming up the cold streets of Manhattan in New York city as GG hotties Leighton Meester & Ed Westwick were filming a scene earlier today looking freeze cold but hot. You can tell it’s the Christmas shopping bug in all the bags Blair is carrying, or maybe just being Blair & sweeping the shops. Either ways, hotness!

Nicole Richie confirmed through her official blog that she’ll be back to the small screen staring in an ABC comedy series as well as producing it after spending much time busy being a mum & being a fashionista with her clothing line “House Of Harlow”.

Nicole wrote :

I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project! I am creating a half hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing.

The series revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships. She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional.

Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life. It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman’s role should be in this era. I’ve taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We’re still in the very early stages and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!
